The area of Kintyre and Mid-Argyll boasts many hidden treasures. Whether you are having a barbeque whilst watching the sun set over Jura on a deserted beach, exploring the rugged coastline, or visiting the ruined 13thC chapel which marks the arrival point of St Columba prior to his trip to Iona, there is much to see and do. Kilmartin Glen, known as ‘the valley of the ghosts’ is the centre of Neolithic and Bronze Age rock art, cairns, cup and ring marks and standing stones dating back to the first Pictish kings. Dunadd Fort, known as Dalriada, is the original crowning place of the earliest Scottish kings. The award winning Kilmartin House Museum captures this unique archaeological area.
