Crinan Canal is the home of the legendary ‘Vital Spark’ and is one of Scotland’s most famous waterways. Six miles from Crinan is the 2nd most turbulent whirlpool in the world, the Corryvreckan made famous by the 1940’s film ‘I Know Where I’m Going’. This location is an ideal base for exploring the Kintyre Peninsula or making day trips to islands. Take a ferry to explore the surrounding islands of Arran, Gigha, Jura and Islay. From the front of Ardyne and beyond look out for seals, porpoises, dolphins and a range of sea birds at any given time. Sea life tours can be booked via the village tourist information centre. |
