Tarbert is a working fishing village idyllically located in a natural harbour overlooked by the now ruined Tarbert castle once inhabited by Robert The Bruce. Tarbert hosts the 2nd biggest yacht race in Britain, the Scottish Series, and is a popular destination for sailors throughout the year. Hill and forest walks includes the newly launched Kintyre Way and inspiring scenery surrounds the village with fantastic beaches nearby. Tarbert also has a 9 hole golf course. Equally, there is much about Tarbert, and its surrounding rugged landscape that is yet to be discovered. At the end of the Pier Road, where Ardyne is situated, lie two spectacular small beaches composed only of shells
